About Car Keys Now — Lafayette's Local Mobile Locksmith

Why This Business Exists

Car Keys Now grew out of an Indiana farm upbringing, where equipment gets fixed where it sits — you don't tow a combine to the dealer because a key went missing in a field. The same logic never applied to cars, and it always seemed backwards: lose your only car key, and the standard advice was a tow truck, a dealership appointment days out, and a bill that made the tow look cheap.

So we built the opposite: a locksmith service where the machine shop is in the van. We come to your driveway, workplace, or roadside anywhere in Lafayette, West Lafayette, and surrounding Tippecanoe County, cut the key at the car, program it at the car, and hand it to you working — typically the same day you call, for up to 60% less than the dealership route. The dealership comparison page shows exactly what we mean.

Our Technicians

Every Car Keys Now technician is trained on the equipment and the vehicles before they ever take a solo call — key origination, transponder and smart-fob programming, and non-destructive entry — and undergoes a background check before joining. You'll notice it in the reviews: customers mention our techs by name, because the person who shows up is skilled, patient, and honest about what your job actually needs.

What We Stand Behind

• Insured professional service. A real local company — not a call center reselling your job to a stranger.
• 30 days parts and labor warranty. Every key and fob we make is covered — parts and labor.
• Zero-damage guarantee. Professional tools and techniques on every lockout and every lock — your vehicle leaves our visit exactly as we found it, plus a working key.
• The quote is the price. What we tell you on the phone is what you pay. Day, night, weekend.
• Honesty over a sale. If the dealership, a battery, or a mechanic is genuinely your better option, we say so on the phone — for free.

Local, and Staying That Way

We live here, our vans are based here, and our reviews come from Lafayette-area driveways and parking lots — that's why "under an hour" on this site is a description, not a slogan. Whether it's a lost-keys emergency, a lockout at the mall, or a spare key made before you need it, the number is the same: (567) 227-5397, 24/7.
